Extended Learning Program

HigherSchool is a leading provider of extended learning services, with a particular emphasis on struggling learners and students who are at the greatest risk of failing. Employing a blended learning approach our program delivers individualized, online lessons that include formative assessments and hands-on group instruction utilizing differentiated activities led by a highly qualified instructor. HigherSchool's extended learning program is customized to accommodate your school's daily academic schedule as well as after school and summer schedules. Our in-school instructional and enrichment programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each school with a typical model offering up to 300 hours of added instructional time per year. We also provide enrichment and youth development activities such as Robotics, Droneology, and Character Education. Our Character Education Program promotes positive character development with easy-to-implement on-line lesson plans that help students build character and develop social-emotional competencies while addressing important and relevant issues such as bullying, cheating and academic achievement.

HigherSchool provides students with a foundation in Reading, Language Arts, and Mathematics grounded in a research based instructional strategy that employs a Backwards Design model. Our instructional strategy is designed around how children learn best - assess, instruct, then assess again. HigherSchool employs a research-based model that supports "just right" differentiated instruction that meets the needs of struggling learners as well as students who are higher performing and Exceptional Learners (Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners). Using a gradual-release approach and inquiry based learning, lessons are student centered, visually appealing, highly scaffolded, and designed to increase student achievement.

Extended Learning Program
We continue to enroll our students with HigherSchool each year because we recognize their commitment to help our students improve and because of their genuine concern for the future and well-being of our children.
